Job Description:
Candidate will be assigned to operate and set up conventional or numerical control (NC) machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop math, machinability of materials and drawings.
Starting Pay:
$20 – $31/hr
Hourly, based on experience.

Machine Operator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to run overhead crane and safely operate machines
- Ability to determine part dimensions, sequence of operations and setup
- Ability to read tape measure to the 16th and verify results
- Run/cut material according to production plan
- Perform daily operational checks and cleanup at beginning and end of shifts
- Properly mark parts and complete storage for the next shop
- Cut and bend parts based on required tolerance per engineering standards
- Select, align and secure holder accessories and materials on machines
- Must be able to regulate machining factors such as, speed, feed, flow, depth and angle or edits to ensure accuracy
- Ability to meet production schedule
- Responsible for keeping daily inventory of WIP material and stock material to ensure material flow is not interrupted
- Perform quality checks and responsible for daily maintenance of machines, which will include, but not limited, to cleaning, lubricating, oil changes
- Perform daily blast profiles (1st plate, middle, and last plate)
- Troubleshoot to operator’s level maintenance
- Please note overtime is an essential function of this position
Machine Operator I
- Essential Duties as above
- May be required to specialize in setting up and operating NC machines
- Complete operational understanding of Iron Worker, SWB and Saw
- Prepare recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality
- Demonstrate leaderships skills by leading and managing a work-cell operation
- One + years of Machine Operator experience
Skill Factors:
Machine III 0-6 months tenure
Machine II 6 months – 1-year tenure
Machine I + 1-year tenure
Work Conditions:
- Environment is that of a heavy industrial worksite.
- Outdoor elements are a factor.
- Exposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smoke
- Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas
- Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, pants, hard hats and possible respirator use.

Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Problem solving and Organization skills
- Previous work experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment is preferred; however, it is not a requirement.
- Knowledge of various types of construction and or heavy equipment
