Industrial Electrician

Job Description:

Participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repairs of electrical appliances, systems, facilities and related electronic controls of varying complexity. Responsible for overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools and machinery as assigned to the maintenance team by the plant manager or other supervisor as needed.


Starting Pay:

$25 to $40/HR

Industrial Electrician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electrical appliances, systems, facilities and related electronic controls and devices
  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints and follow manufacturers’ specifications
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing machines
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Work with AC and DC Circuits 120 thru 480 AC voltage and 240 DC voltage
  • Assist in the establishment of preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lock Out safety policies and procedures
  • Overtime is an essential function of this position
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in all types of weather conditions
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
  • Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, Metatarsal shoes/boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses and hard hats

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively
  • Lift tools, machinery parts
  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Ability to climb ladders

Education Requirements:

  • Educational background must include a high school diploma and two years of formal technical training
  • Must have proven knowledge of the principles of electricity and electrical design
  • Experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
